Welcome to my portfolio!

Follow along as I craft cross-cultural stories that connect people, planet, and policy.

Hi, my name is Sarah Schmidt & I’m so glad you’re here!

I’ve always been drawn to the places where my curiosities meet, whether that’s a trail winding through the forest, a conversation with someone from a different culture, or the pages of a notebook filling with ideas. My love for nature and the outdoors has always grounded me, while my fascination with people, storytelling, and the way we communicate has pulled me outward into the world. I’m endlessly curious about science, about how things work and connect, and I’m happiest when I’m exploring somewhere new or immersing myself in a different language or culture.

Studying Public Relations and International Studies, with minors in Environmental Studies and Spanish, has felt less like choosing a major and more like finding the framework that already holds everything I care about. It’s where my love for storytelling meets my concern for the planet, where cross-cultural understanding intersects with environmental advocacy, and where my passion for meaningful conversation translates into the work of building bridges between communities, causes, and the natural world we all share. It’s the perfect intersection that fits like a puzzle – with all the right pieces.

My life motto and personal mission: be kind to people and the planet.

“Every small, unselfish action nudges the world into a better path. An accumulation of small acts can change the world.”

-Robin Hobb
